This organic necklace evolved into a necklace with a very contemporary and elegant look while using fine old Tribal beads, and everything just seems to go together! The focal bead is a very special silver hand made Yemeni “ball” bead made by the Jewish-Yemini people in their own unique patterns. Some are signed, some larger, some smaller, and all rare and sought after. We found this one in Morocco, and I have floated it on a thin sterling band so it has room to move as you move. It is flanked by sterling silver saucer beads, lamp work glass slices and old, large silver wax beads from India. These beads are traditionally made from hard wax and the silver is formed over the wax patterns, which never melts. I’ve added white Naga natural conch shell beads, two additional silver beads from India, 2 red “Mountain Coral” glass beads, black African vulcanite, an old sterling bead and vintage trade beads. There are sterling silver rings between the conch beads and the clasp is a large and easy to use sterling hook clasp. This necklace is 19″ long and I love it!
