The Beautiful Blue Kyanite Stone

This beautiful stone is called Kyanite and quite a recent discovery for me. I was watching a program devoted to volcanic actions worldwide and suddenly a lava flow was pictured showing a vein of bright blue deposited millions of years ago. My research revealed that this was Kyanite, which comes in different shades of blue and green but this bright blue is my favorite.
